Hodgkinson of Amberley had just
about completed all the landscape
works to their 3 year old home
but a hot topic of discussion was
the unfinished driveway. The
finish they had did not look
particularly tidy, it was rough
to ride on, unsuitable for the
children to play on and when it
rained the potholes worsened and
there was no real drainage.
After quite a bit of thought and
viewing other contractors work
they were unsure what to do until
a friend told them "there is
nobody else to use" but
Dwayne and the team at McLaren
Excavating for a makeover like
this.
Out of the options which Dwayne
provided for the Hodgkinson's,
they chose to use a 75mm x 25mm
treated timber edge with the
driveway being reformed with the
correct materials to practically
a sealing standard. Then the
correct thickness of McLaren chip
was applied over the formation,
McLaren chip has been specially
formulated to avoid chip becoming
stuck in shoes and tyres and does
not move around and bunch up. It
can also be removed when the
budget allows and with a small
amount of remedial work the
driveway can be sealed. |

When we moved to
Teviot View Place we inherited a
70 metre drive that had
supposedly been completed by
another contractor. We put up
with the drive for a year and
then decided enough was enough,
it needed sorting out.
We contacted Dwayne after we were
given his name by friends. We
were advised that he made site
visits within 24 hrs and would
supply a written quote within 48
hrs. This impressed us and
immediately made Dwayne stand out
from other contractors.
After meeting Dwayne at our
property we knew that we were
dealing with the ultimate
professional. We discussed the
drive and were very impressed by
his knowledge and suggestions to
solve areas of concern. By the
time he left we were convinced
that he was the man for the job.
His quote arrived on time, we
were happy with it, and gave him
the go ahead. Before work
commenced we also consulted with
Dwayne about some additional work
that we required and again he was
more than helpful and gave
invaluable advice that only years
of experience can bring.
Once the project was started we
were very aware of how skilled
the guys on site were. The job
was to take 4 days, at the end of
each day the site was left clean
and tidy and the drive available
for us to use. |

As the job progressed it was
clear to see just how much was
involved in our driveway makeover
and we were both amazed at how
much work had been completed
within such a short space of
time. Day 4 soon arrived and the
guys began to apply the finishing
touches with the precision and
care that made us realise just
how important customer
satisfaction was to McLaren
Excavating.
The site was cleared, the trucks
loaded and the guys left us for a
well earned beer!
We could now truly see what an
amazing transformation had taken
place. After the initial chat
with Dwayne we never had any
doubt that the drive would look
great, however we were still
blown away at the difference that
the drive made to the look of the
whole house. Dwayne’s
expertise and eye for detail
coupled with the workmanship of
him and his team have created a
truly professional end product
that we never thought possible.
We have no doubt that Mclaren
Excavating would surpass
anyone’s expectations in
whatever work they undertake.
